Why should I attend traffic school?
Many states and courts permit
ticketed motorists to take traffic school for ticket dismissal or point
reduction. Traffic school will benefit you in several ways:
1. Help
keep your record clean. If too many points accumulate on your driving record,
your driver’s license could be suspended for up to six months. Avoid the hassle
and inconvenience of a suspended license by keeping your record clean.
2. Insurance
savings. The points from a traffic citation stay on your driving record for
up to three years. Your insurance rates will increase drastically with each new
point on your record. By keeping your driving record clean, you could save
hundreds—even thousands—of dollars on your insurance premiums each year.
3. Driving
knowledge refresher. If you are like most motorists, the last time you took
driver’s ed was in high school—and you probably weren’t too interested in
paying attention back then, right? This traffic school course is designed to
refresh your knowledge of basic traffic laws and techniques that will help you
be more alert and more courteous on the roads. Who knows, it could save your
life!

What is a home study traffic school
course?
A home study course is one that you
take at home rather than attend in person. With the TSR online course, you can
apply, pay, register and complete the course entirely online and whenever it is
convenient for you. You can take traffic school all at once or log on and off
as often as you need (before your deadline) until you have finished the course.
What is the
difference between taking traffic school at home and taking traffic school in a
classroom?
Online traffic school and “live”
traffic school will cover many of the same topics, such as:
·
The dangers of speeding;
·
Sharing the road with other motorists, bicyclists and
pedestrians;
·
The importance of safety restraints for adults and children;
·
Techniques for driving in inclement weather; and
·
A review of traffic laws and ordinances.
Both courses follow a similar
outline and both are approved by the court through which you take traffic
school. Both are aimed at educating drivers and increasing driver safety.
If you choose to take a live
course, you will have to register and pay for the course in person and you will
have to arrange your schedule to attend the class in person on a specific day
(or days). The course will be held in a classroom setting and be guided by one
or more instructors. These classes often last several hours.
If you choose to take the online
course, you will be able to do everything online—even apply for the course and
pay your fines. Once you are approved for the course, you can log on and take
the course whenever you are ready (before your deadline, of course). While the
online course must last as long as the “live” version, you can log on and off
the online course as often as you wish and whenever your schedule allows. We
will track your progress and remember where you leave off. If, at any time
during the course, you have questions or concerns, our friendly customer
support is here to help.

Why should I take traffic school
from this site instead of another Internet course?
We feel our course is superior to
others for several reasons:
1. Approved.
In some cases, this course is the only course approved by your court. You may
be required to take traffic school through this course to receive credit for
course completion.
2. Trustworthy
material. Our course material was written with the help of judges,
prosecuting attorneys and highway patrol officers to ensure that it accurately
covers all the important topics pertaining to driver safety.
3. Entertaining
presentation. Each page in the course is concise and easy to read. Rather
than quoting directly from your state’s driver manual, our course presents you
with real-life examples, case studies and “choose-your-own-ending” scenarios to
help you study and—most importantly—learn the materials covered.
4. Convenient.
In most cases, we work closely with your city to create a course that is just
right for you. That means you can do everything related to your traffic
citation right from home! You can apply for traffic school, pay your
registration fee and traffic fines, and even communicate with your court
from our website.
5. Friendly
customer support. If you have any questions or problems, our friendly staff
is ready to help. We are just a call or a click away!

Course Eligibility
How do I know I am
approved/eligible to take an online traffic school course?

completion certificate, you must obtain permission from that court
first.

If I just received
a ticket, can I sign up for traffic school now or do I need to wait?
While you can sign up for traffic
school through our website at any time, many courts require you to wait at
least five business days after receiving your citation before registering for
traffic school. This allows the court time to process your citation. Contact
your court for their specific requirements.

My due date for
attending traffic school has passed. What should I do?
You will need to contact the court
that issued your citation and request an extension for traffic school.

I have recently
taken traffic school at another state/county/city. Am I still eligible to take
this course?
Rules on how long you must wait
before becoming eligible to take traffic school again vary from court to court.
You will need to contact the court that issued your citation and request
permission to take traffic school again.
If you have taken traffic school in
the last 12-18 months, you may not be eligible for traffic school. However, you
are welcome to complete the application and request permission to take traffic
school. Be sure to note when you last took traffic school and the city and
state where you took it.

What if the court
that issued my citation does not allow online traffic school?
You must take a traffic
school course that has been approved by the court that issued your citation in
order to fulfill the requirements of your ticket dismissal or plea-in-abeyance.
If your court does not currently
allow defendants to take online traffic school, you may contact the court and
request permission to take an online course. They may grant you special
permission, particularly if you live out-of-state.
TSR also has an affiliate program
that rewards you for presenting our course to your court and convincing
them to use our unique, effective course. If your court signs up, not only will
you get to take the course for free, we will send you $___ for each of the
first ___ motorists who sign up through that course as a special “thank you”
for your help! Click here to learn more.

Which course should
I sign up for?
If you are taking the course to
have a ticket dismissed, you will need to register for traffic school. Be sure
that you sign up for the course through the correct court or the court may not
accept your course completion certificate. Click here

Your state DMV may require you to
take a point-reduction, aggressive driving or DUI course in order to avoid
license suspension. You may be able to take one of our court-ordered courses to
fulfill that requirement. Click here to
learn more and sign up.
In some states, traffic school or
defensive driving courses are not recognized. However, your insurance company
may reduce your premiums if you complete an approved insurance-reduction
course. Check with your insurance provider before signing up to be sure they
will accept a course completion certificate from this course. Click here to learn more and sign up.
Are you under 16 years? Preparing

If your high school does not offer
driver education, you may be interested in our driver education program. This
course is approved in several states and may fulfill your state’s driver

knowledge and practice you need to pass the exam on your first attempt. This
in-depth course also covers a wide range of topics relevant to you, from
traffic law and safety to avoiding distractions, choosing your first vehicle,
and basic maintenance and vehicle car tips. Click here

their driver license and would like a refresher course, the “personal” course

Where do I get my
password to sign up for a course?
The court that issued your citation
has a specific password that will ensure you sign up for the correct course.
The ticketing officer may have
given you this password with your citation. If you had to appear in court, the
judge or prosecuting attorney should have given you a password. If you applied
for traffic school through our website, your application approval e-mail will
have included a password.

Why am I being asked
for my driver’s license number?
Your driver’s license number will be
your user ID for the course. Your personal information will be kept private and
made available only to those parties that need to know—specifically the court
for which you are taking the course. Read our full privacy
policy for more information.

I just moved to
another state and recently got a driver’s license for that state. However, I
received my citation while I still had my old driver’s license. Which driver’s
license number should I use?
We generally recommend that you use
the driver’s license number that appears on your citation. That way the court
will be better able to trace your user account back to your citation.
I do not have a
driver’s license. What should I use instead?
We generally recommend that you use
your birthday (mmddyyyy) or other number combination that is easy for you to
remember. For security reasons, you should not use your social security number.
Where most drivers will select the state that issued their driver’s license,
simply select “N/A.”

I have paid my fines
at court. Do I still have to pay the registration fee?
The citation fines and court fees
that you pay at your court are separate from the course registration fee. If
you do not pay these fines and fees, your course completion certificate may be
rejected by the court.
Some courts may allow you to pay
all your fines and fees online as part of your traffic school registration fee.

already paid your fines in person.

How can I pay for
this course?
We accept Visa and MasterCard. You
may use either a credit or debit card as long as there is a CCV2 number printed
on the back of the card what’s
this?. Your account information is sent through our secure website
and will not be shared with any other party. Once your payment is processed,
you may immediately begin the course.
If you prefer not to pay with your
credit or debit card, you may send a money order instead. You will be given
instructions on where to send it and how to prepare the money order after you
have registered and selected “money order” as your payment method. However, you
will not be granted access to your account until we have received and processed
your money order. Once we have received and processed your payment, an email
notification will be sent to you. If you choose not to provide a valid email
address, you should wait at least five business days and then periodically log
in to your account and check if your payment has been received.

Why won’t the site
accept my credit card?
First, double check and ensure that
you have entered in your credit card number and expiration date correctly. A
single digit error will prevent the payment from going through accurately.
For security purposes, your billing
information must be entered in exactly as it appears on your statement.
If, for example, your name appears as Jane Ellen Doe on your statement but you
entered your name as Jane E. Doe on the payment page, the payment may not be
accepted.
If you are still experiencing
problems, contact us.
